Our beliefs
spirit-led, gospel-centered
our convictions
Core Christian beliefs that we understand to be the essence of Christianity.
-
GODWe believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and Triune in His manifestation, being Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is Sovereign and absolute in his authority (Deut. 6:4; Isa. 45:5-7).
-
JESUSWe believe that in Jesus Christ dwells the Godhead bodily. Jesus Christ is the One true God. He Is both fully God and fully man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate (Matt 26:64; John 8:58; 10:30; Col. 2:9).
-
THE HOLY SPIRITWe believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (Gen. 1:2; Ps. 51:11; 139:7; Isa. 61:1-3; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; Rev. 22:17).
-
THE BIBLEWe believe that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that holy men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the very words of Scripture. We believe that this divine inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of the writings—historical, poetical, doctrinal, and prophetical—as appeared in the original manuscripts. We believe that the whole Bible in the originals is therefore without error (Mark 12:26, 36; 13:11; Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 1:16; 17:2–3; 18:28; 26:22–23; 28:23; Rom. 15:4; 1 Cor. 2:13; 10:11; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21).
-
SALVATIONWe believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts (John 3:16; Rom. 10:13-14).
-
HUMANKINDWe believe that men and women were originally created in the image and after the likeness of God, and that he fell through sin, and, as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life, becoming dead in trespasses and sins, and that he became subject to the power of the devil. We also believe that this spiritual death, or total depravity of human nature, has been transmitted to the entire human race, the Man Christ Jesus alone being the exception. (Gen. 1:26; 2:17; 6:5; Pss. 14:1–3; 51:5; Jer. 17:9; John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Rom. 3:10–19; 8:6–7; Eph. 2:1–3; 1 Tim. 5:6; 1 John 3:8).
-
THE CHURCHWe believe that the church began at Pentecost with the baptism of the Holy Spirit just as Jesus promised. The church is made up of those who have been baptized into the life and death of Jesus Christ by means of the Holy Spirit who prompts the once unregenerate person to place their faith and trust in Jesus and His work on the cross for the redemption of sins. The church is made up of believers all around the world who God has called to gather in local churches (Jn. 15:26; Acts 1:5; Acts 2; Rom. 6:3-4).
-
ETERNITYGod created men and women in his image; that he made us to live forever. We will either exist eternally in community with God in Heaven through Jesus, or exist eternally separated from God in Hell by rejecting Jesus (Dan. 12:1-2; Jn. 3:16, 36; 1 Jn. 2:25).
